Joy! Love Cuts (Flatmates reference?) bring the tough and cool hairpin-clad, saddle shoe jangles of yester-K Recs-years to today. From the icy North of Vancouver these girls make shambolic love letters in the vein of your favorite Rose Melberg bands, but with perhaps more than a pinch of Sleater-Kinney’s spirited yelps. “I Will Kiss Anyone” is my favorite bunch, with its charmingly repetitive “it’s you you you! or anyone else” outro.
