Homecomings, Etc!
Homecomings are a brilliant new noisepop band from Kyoto, Japan! I first came upon on the fantastic Ano(t)raks compilation ‘Soon’. With a little snooping I’ve managed to also track down a wonderful Demo track of theirs simple titled “Demo 01”. It’s starting to perhaps get a bit chilly in Philadelphia for this sort of sunkissed indiepop, but I’m having a hard time resisting it nonetheless! It’s sickly sweet and catchy, but the fantastic fuzzed-out guitar track that comes in at the 2:00 mark might keep them from getting stuck with the dreaded “t” word.

With even MORE snooping, it seems they also recently appeared alongside Fandaze on this split via Third Royal Records! Not a lot of info floating around, but I can only assume Third Royal must be related to Second Royal Records, which is the label responsible for the rerelease of Teen Runnings’ wonderful LP ‘Let’s Get Together Again.’
In other news, the OddBox Records Singles Club is back!! This year it’s a little different: 8 CD EPs to be released over the year! As of yet the only bands revealed Noun Verb Adjective, Good Grief (Yes!), Young Romance. I’ve not heard much of NVA, but I can MORE THAN vouch for for the latter two. Young Romance I’ve just only heard recently, but I’m kind of falling in love! Only 89 subscriptions available and I am to understand they’re going quite fast, so you’d do well to get right on it!!! In other, other news, via Dave, there is really lovely review of the SF Chickfactor show that went down this past Saturday over on Spinning Platters. If you missed it, shame on you indeed! The Chickfactor shows I was abe to catch on East coast were amazing and never to be forgotten.
