Seaside CA’s Burnt Palms couldn’t have entered my life at a better time! These girls’ make the kind of warm and fuzzy indiepop I’m constantly filling mixtapes with the second it starts to smell like Fall outside. Burnt Palms buzz and rattle enough to shake the leaves off trees, but their fuzz really tends to growl just beneath the surface (in that perfect Slumber Party kind of way), letting catchy little lines like “you were the one friend I loved” really hang around and tear you up as they should. In fact, you’d do quite well sticking the totally crushworthy “In My Mind” between Slumber Party and Henry’s Dress on your next Autumnal mixtape venture. This is some serious handholding music, duh.
